Meta's personal agent: it connects to your emails, calendar, payments and apps to act on your behalf, from an app, WhatsApp or a Mac.
The most carefully designed architecture among mainstream personal agents (virtual machine per user, credential vault, per-action control), but your conversations are used by default to train Meta's models. Not available in France: limited to the United States and users aged 18 and over.
Security reflects where data goes, requested permissions and incidents on record at the verification date. It is not a guarantee of zero risk: check the deployment mode and the connections you enable.
What it does, concretely
Managing emails, calendars, online shopping and subscriptions takes time and attention. Muse is a personal agent that handles these tasks on your behalf, acting directly inside your applications rather than giving you instructions to follow.
Each user gets a dedicated, isolated Linux virtual machine in the cloud, complete with a full browser. The agent uses it to browse the web, fill out forms, send emails or complete purchases. You can approve each action before it is carried out and review a full audit trail of what the agent has done or is planning to do. Your credentials are stored in a secure vault the agent cannot read directly, and payments go through a one-time card number.
Muse is designed for people who are comfortable delegating repetitive digital tasks: reservations, price comparisons, calendar management, health tracking or project organisation. The interface works through the mobile app, the Mac app or directly in WhatsApp, with no particular learning curve.
Muse is not suited to those who want full control over their data or who live outside the United States: the service is limited to US residents aged 18 and over. People who are uncomfortable connecting their email, payment or health accounts to a third-party service will also find its requirements too intrusive.
