Vibe Kanban

App : A product you use directly

Kanban board to dispatch tasks to coding agents and track their progress.

Good idea, but the project has been in community mode since Bloop shut down: worth monitoring.

Security reflects where data goes, requested permissions and incidents on record at the verification date. It is not a guarantee of zero risk: check the deployment mode and the connections you enable.

What it does, concretely

Developers working with coding agents spend a significant amount of time planning tasks and reviewing the changes produced. Without a dedicated tool, this coordination happens across multiple windows, slowing down the workflow.

Vibe Kanban provides a kanban board from which you create tickets, assign them to a coding agent (Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex, Amp, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, among others), and track progress in real time. Each task runs in an isolated workspace with its own Git branch, a terminal, and an integrated dev server. You can review diffs, leave inline comments directly to the agent, preview the app in a built-in browser, and then open a pull request with an automatically generated description.

The tool is aimed at developers who already use coding agents and want to better orchestrate multiple tasks in parallel, maintain an overview, and reduce time spent switching between tools.

It is not suited for people who are new to coding agents or who do not have a development environment already set up: the tool assumes authentication with the chosen agent is already in place. Furthermore, the project is being sunset (shutdown announced by the Bloop team), which represents a real risk for the long-term availability of the service.

What it offers

  • ·Kanban board to create, prioritize, and assign tickets to coding agents.
  • ·Isolated workspaces: each task has its own Git branch, a terminal, and a dev server.
  • ·Diff review with the ability to leave inline comments sent directly to the agent.
  • ·Built-in browser with developer tools, inspect mode, and device emulation to preview the app.
  • ·Compatibility with more than ten coding agents: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, Amp, Cursor, OpenCode, Droid, CCR, and Qwen Code.
  • ·Pull request creation with AI-generated descriptions, review on GitHub, and merging from the interface.
  • ·Self-hosting via Docker for teams who want to keep control of their data.
  • ·SSH integration to open projects in a local editor (VSCode) from a remote server.

How to install Vibe Kanban

1. Make sure Node.js (version 20 or higher) is installed on your machine. 2. Authenticate with the coding agent you want to use (Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex, etc.) before proceeding. 3. In your terminal, navigate to the project folder you want to work on. 4. Run the command: npx vibe-kanban 5. The interface opens in your browser; the tool runs locally on your machine, which limits exposure of your code to third-party servers. 6. If you deploy behind a reverse proxy, set the VK_ALLOWED_ORIGINS variable to avoid 403 errors.
