claude-flow (ruflo)
Plugin : A set of capabilities installed into an AI application or a host · requires claude-code
Multi-agent orchestration for Claude Code: swarms, shared memory, hooks.
Powerful but heavy and fast-moving (renamed ruflo); for advanced users.
Security reflects where data goes, requested permissions and incidents on record at the verification date. It is not a guarantee of zero risk: check the deployment mode and the connections you enable.
What it does, concretely
Coordinating multiple AI agents on a single project is complex: each agent works in isolation, without shared memory or structured communication. Ruflo (formerly claude-flow) solves this by adding an orchestration layer around Claude Code, enabling dozens of agents to collaborate, learn from past tasks, and share a common context.
In practice, a single init command installs a hook system, an MCP server, a vector database, and more than 98 specialized agents into your workspace. Agents self-organize into swarms using different topologies (hierarchical, mesh, adaptive), coordinate through a consensus protocol, and store their learnings for reuse in future sessions.
Ruflo is aimed at experienced developers who already use Claude Code daily and want to automate complex workflows: test generation, security auditing, documentation, architecture decision tracking, or coordinating agents across multiple machines via the federation plugin.
This is not a tool for AI beginners: the full installation deeply modifies the working environment (hidden folders, configuration files, background daemon), and the ecosystem evolves rapidly, requiring regular monitoring.
What it offers
- ·Swarm orchestration: agents self-organize into hierarchical, mesh, or adaptive topologies with consensus.
- ·Persistent vector memory: an HNSW-indexed AgentDB retains learnings across sessions.
- ·Automatic hook system: tasks are routed and coordinated in the background without manual intervention.
- ·35 specialized plugins: covering test generation, security auditing, documentation, token cost tracking, database management, and more.
- ·Multi-machine federation: agents on different machines or organizations can collaborate securely via the ruflo-federation plugin.
- ·Built-in MCP server: exposes Ruflo tools to Claude Code as directly callable commands.
- ·Cost tracking: the ruflo-cost-tracker plugin monitors token usage, allows budget setting, and sends alerts.
