What it does, concretely

Taking notes during a meeting while staying focused on the conversation is a real challenge. Plaud offers a compact physical recorder that captures in-person conversations, then automatically transcribes and summarises them through its mobile app.

In practice, the device records ambient audio or phone calls. The recording is then synced to the Plaud Intelligence cloud, which uses GPT to produce a transcription and a structured summary. The mobile app (iOS and Android) lets you review, organise and share these notes.

Plaud is aimed at professionals who have back-to-back face-to-face meetings: salespeople, consultants, doctors, lawyers, real estate agents and educators. The range includes several models, including the Plaud Note and Plaud NotePin, both at $159, as well as more advanced versions (Note Pro at $189, NotePin S at $179).

However, if most of your exchanges happen online or via video conferencing, other AI note-taking tools designed for remote calls will likely be a better fit. Also, since audio is processed in the cloud, this tool is not recommended for confidential conversations without first reviewing the security policy.

How to install Plaud (Note / NotePin)

1. Order the Plaud device (Note, NotePin or another model) from plaud.ai. 2. Download the Plaud app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). 3. Create a Plaud account and connect the device to the app via Bluetooth. 4. Before recording, inform the people present and check compliance with local privacy laws. 5. Start a recording on the device, then sync the audio to the app to receive the transcription and summary.
