What it does, concretely
Taking notes during a meeting often forces participants to split their attention between the conversation and writing, which reduces the quality of exchanges. Fathom solves this by automatically recording and transcribing calls, then generating summaries and action items without any manual effort.
In practice, Fathom connects to your Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams meeting either through a bot that joins the call or via a bot-free mode available since April 2026. After the call, a summary, transcript, and action items are immediately available and can be synced with tools such as Slack, Salesforce, HubSpot, Notion, or Asana.
Fathom is designed for freelancers and small teams as well as large organizations: sales teams, customer success teams, HR, marketing, and product teams can all use it to reduce post-meeting administrative work.
However, Fathom is less suited to people who do not use supported video conferencing platforms, or who need more than five AI summaries per month without wanting to upgrade to a paid plan.
