Text Generator
Plugin : A set of capabilities installed into an AI application or a host · requires obsidian
Text generation using models and templates inside Obsidian.
The veteran of Obsidian AI plugins, highly configurable.
Security reflects where data goes, requested permissions and incidents on record at the verification date. It is not a guarantee of zero risk: check the deployment mode and the connections you enable.
What it does, concretely
Taking notes in Obsidian often requires manually rephrasing, summarizing, or expanding ideas. Text Generator connects your knowledge base to language models to produce text directly inside your notes, without leaving the application.
The plugin works through configurable templates: you define a context, choose a model (OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, HuggingFace, Llama, etc.) and trigger the generation. The content of your selected notes is sent to the model, which returns a response inserted into your document.
Text Generator is aimed at Obsidian users who want to automate repetitive writing tasks: drafting summaries, generating titles, creating outlines, or expanding paragraphs from their own notes.
It is less suited to people who are new to Obsidian or who are not comfortable configuring API keys and technical settings. Getting started requires a meaningful initial investment.
