What it does, concretely
Creating a complete song normally requires skills in composition, production, and vocal recording. Suno removes these barriers by generating a full track, including lyrics, vocals, and arrangements, from a simple plain-language description.
In practice, you type a prompt on suno.com or in the mobile app: a genre, a mood, a topic, or your own lyrics. In under a minute, Suno produces a song with vocals, instrumentation, and production. You can then extend the track, rewrite sections, remix, or refine the result using the built-in editor.
The tool is aimed at content creators, songwriters looking to quickly demo ideas, and anyone who wants to produce personalised music without prior musical training. Paid plans unlock commercial rights to tracks created during the subscription period.
However, professionals who need full control over every sonic element or fully guaranteed intellectual property will find the current legal terms insufficient: since the Warner agreement in November 2025, the terms of service refer to a licence rather than ownership.
