Helicone
App : A product you use directly
Observability proxy: costs, latency and logs of all your LLM requests by changing one URL.
The simplest way to finally see what each AI feature costs.
Security reflects where data goes, requested permissions and incidents on record at the verification date. It is not a guarantee of zero risk: check the deployment mode and the connections you enable.
What it does, concretely
When building an application that calls language models, it is hard to know what each feature actually costs, where slowdowns occur, and what exactly happens during an error. Helicone addresses this by intercepting all LLM requests to log and analyze them.
In practice, you simply replace the base URL of your OpenAI (or Anthropic, Gemini, etc.) client with Helicone's and add your API key. All requests are then automatically logged with their cost, latency, and content, visible in a web dashboard. Helicone also acts as a unified gateway giving access to more than 100 models through a single API key, with intelligent routing and automatic fallback on failure.
Helicone is aimed at developers and teams building LLM-based applications who want to monitor costs, debug agents, or manage prompts in production. It is compatible with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Vercel AI SDK, CrewAI, and many other frameworks.
It is not suited for someone looking for a no-code tool or a consumer-facing interface to interact with models: Helicone is primarily intended for technical profiles who write code.
What it offers
- ·Automatic logging of all LLM requests (cost, latency, content) via a simple URL change.
- ·Unified gateway to more than 100 models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Groq, AWS Bedrock, etc.) with a single API key.
- ·Intelligent routing and automatic fallback to a backup model when the primary provider fails.
- ·Session and agent tracing to debug complex pipelines (chatbots, document processing, multi-step agents).
- ·Prompt management and versioning in production, deployable without code changes.
- ·Built-in playground to test and iterate on prompts directly from the interface.
- ·Metrics export to PostHog to build custom dashboards.
- ·Self-hosting available via Docker Compose or Helm (the latter reserved for enterprise deployments).
