What it does, concretely

Quickly finding what science already knows on a specific topic is a long and tedious task: it requires browsing thousands of articles, filtering relevant results and extracting useful data. Elicit automates these steps for researchers who need evidence-based answers.

The tool queries a database of 138 million scientific papers and 545,000 clinical trials using semantic search, meaning you do not need to know the exact keywords. It then generates research reports with sentence-level citations, interactive tables, and can automatically extract data for systematic reviews compliant with PRISMA 2020 guidelines.

Elicit is aimed at academic researchers, pharmaceutical teams, public policy organisations and medical device manufacturers who need to review large volumes of scientific literature in a rigorous and auditable way.

It is not designed for general public use or non-scientific research. Users who simply want to summarise a single document will find more suitable tools for that specific need.
