Dia (The Browser Company)
Tool : standalone product, used directly
Browser with an AI assistant that reads your tabs and drafts content from them.
Promising, still young compared to Comet.
What it does, concretely
Juggling dozens of tabs, Slack threads, Notion documents and scattered emails wastes a significant amount of time every morning. Dia is a browser designed to bring that dispersed information together and make it immediately actionable.
In practice, Dia reads the content of your open tabs as well as your connected tools (Google Suite, Slack, Notion, GitHub, Calendar, and more) and answers your questions like a colleague who has read everything. It can generate a morning briefing, write a report, create a presentation with layout, or prepare your meetings with the right documents already open.
Dia is aimed at people who work across many tools simultaneously: project managers, developers, freelancers, or anyone who spends their day switching between applications. Profiles let you separate professional life, freelance work and personal use with distinct tabs and AI connections.
However, if you only use one or two tools and your browsing stays simple, Dia's advanced features will bring little added value. The browser is currently available only on macOS 14 or later with an Apple M1 chip or newer, which excludes Windows users and Intel Mac users for now.
What it offers
- ·Morning Brief: Dia summarises your calendar, inbox and key links every morning before the day begins.
- ·Multi-tool synthesis: ask a question and Dia aggregates information from Slack, Notion, Google Suite, GitHub and your tabs to produce a shareable report.
- ·Presentation generation: request a deck and Dia structures your scattered data into real slides with headers and layout (paid, included in Better Days).
- ·Meeting preparation: Dia automatically opens the right meeting page, agenda, notes and related documents with a gentle countdown.
- ·Separate profiles: create distinct spaces for work, freelance and personal use, each with its own tabs, connections and AI settings.
- ·Split views: display two tabs side by side and Dia remembers your favourite layouts for one-click retrieval.
- ·Named tab groups: organise your tabs into groups with custom labels such as 'Design Review' or 'Q2 Planning'.
- ·End-to-end encryption: data sync is end-to-end encrypted, and your data is never sold or used to build ad profiles.
