What it does, concretely
Switching tabs to paste text into ChatGPT, then going back to the page, then doing it again: this repeated back-and-forth is the friction Sider aims to eliminate. The extension installs a persistent side panel in the browser, accessible on any webpage without leaving what you are currently reading.
In practice, you simply select a passage or open the panel to summarise an article, translate text, ask a question about a page, interact with a PDF, or compare answers from several models side by side. Sider provides access to more than twenty models, including GPT-5, Claude 4, Gemini 3, DeepSeek and Grok, all from a single credit-based interface.
The tool suits people who spend their day in a browser and want contextual AI help without a separate application: writers, researchers, students, and remote workers handling threads or online documents. The free plan covers light use with thirty basic credits per day.
Sider is not suitable for people handling confidential or sensitive data: page content passes through Sider's servers and then on to the model providers. Those who only need a single AI model and want advanced conversation organisation will find more value in a direct subscription to that model.
