Security reflects where data goes, requested permissions and incidents on record at the verification date. It is not a guarantee of zero risk: check the deployment mode and the connections you enable.

What it does, concretely

Engineering teams working on large codebases spend considerable time understanding existing context before they can write or review code. Augment Code addresses this by indexing the entire repository so that agents have a deep understanding of the project structure.

The Cosmos platform orchestrates specialized agents called Experts that cover every stage of the software development lifecycle: ticket triage, pull request authoring, code review, testing, incident management, and vulnerability remediation. These agents are triggered from GitHub, GitLab, Slack, Linear, Jira, or webhooks, and run in isolated environments, either in managed cloud or on your own infrastructure.

Augment Code is designed for engineering organizations that want to automate repetitive tasks in the middle of the development cycle while keeping human checkpoints at critical stages. Experts are reusable templates that teams can customize, share, and improve over time.

This product is not suited for individual developers looking for a simple code completion assistant: it targets entire teams with structured processes, complex monorepos, and a significant budget.

What it offers

  • ·Automated review of every pull request with specialized agents (Pair Review, Deep Code Review, PR Risk Analysis) that post inline comments and deliver a verdict. (paid)
  • ·Ticket-to-PR conversion: an agent handles the task from the first commit through merge, including testing. (paid)
  • ·Vulnerability remediation: agents map the blast radius of a CVE and produce patches ready to approve, without a war room. (paid)
  • ·Incident management: before the on-call engineer even joins the channel, agents have identified the likely cause and drafted a timeline. (paid)
  • ·Context Engine that indexes the entire repository to give agents a precise understanding of the codebase, including monorepos. (paid)
  • ·Shared memory across agents, teams, and runs: one engineer's correction sharpens future runs for the entire organization. (paid)
  • ·Native triggers for GitHub, GitLab, Slack, Linear, Jira, schedules, and custom webhooks. (paid)
  • ·Execution in isolated environments: Augment-managed cloud, your own machines, or both in parallel. (paid)

How to install Augment Code

1. Open VS Code or your JetBrains IDE and go to the extensions marketplace. 2. Search for "Augment Code" and install the official plugin. 3. Sign in with your Augment Code account or create one at augmentcode.com. 4. Grant access to your repository: the tool will index the entire source code, so inform your security team beforehand. 5. For Cosmos, configure your triggers (GitHub, GitLab, Jira, etc.) from the platform interface and choose your execution environment (managed cloud or your own machines). 6. Start by activating a single Expert, such as code review, before chaining automated loops.
