What it does, concretely
Video editors and VFX artists face a wide range of needs: color grading footage, creating convincing visual effects, animating titles or simulating particles, all without leaving their usual editing software. Red Giant brings together all these tools in a suite of plugins integrated directly into host applications.
In practice, Red Giant is installed via the Maxon App and adds dozens of plugins to Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, and others. It includes color grading tools, 3D particle simulations, realistic lens flares, transitions, animated text, keying, and lens distortion correction.
The suite is aimed at filmmakers, editors, motion designers, colorists, and VFX artists, from beginners to professionals. Beginners can rely on the Maxon Studio template library to quickly achieve polished results, while professionals have access to advanced controls for every tool.
Red Giant is less suited to those who do not use any of the compatible host applications, or who are looking for a standalone tool without a subscription. A MyMaxon account is required to use the plugins.
