Ready Player Me
App : A product you use directly
Customisable 3D avatars generated from a photo, for games and apps.
Practical for developers; non-commercial web avatars.
Security reflects where data goes, requested permissions and incidents on record at the verification date. It is not a guarantee of zero risk: check the deployment mode and the connections you enable.
What it does, concretely
Creating a convincing 3D avatar usually requires modelling skills or hours of work. Ready Player Me solves this by letting anyone generate a personalised 3D avatar in minutes from a photo or a preset template, with no technical skills required.
In practice, the user visits the website or an integrated app, takes or uploads a photo, then refines their avatar: body shape, skin tone, hairstyle, eye colour, clothing and accessories. The result is delivered as a GLB file, a fully skinned, rigged and ready-to-animate 3D model that works directly in Unity, Unreal Engine or any web-based application.
The platform is aimed primarily at game and app developers who want to integrate an avatar system without building one from scratch. A registered developer gets their own avatar creator URL and can embed it via iFrame, WebView or SDK within hours. End users benefit from a portable avatar they can carry across multiple applications without recreating their profile.
Ready Player Me is less suited to studios that need highly customised photorealistic avatars or advanced built-in animations, or to projects that cannot accept external server-side data processing, particularly where strict GDPR compliance is required.
