Security reflects where data goes, requested permissions and incidents on record at the verification date. It is not a guarantee of zero risk: check the deployment mode and the connections you enable.

What it does, concretely

Building a complete web application usually takes months of development and a significant budget. Lovable addresses this problem by letting anyone describe their idea in plain language and get a working application, with a user interface, database, authentication, and hosting, without writing a single line of code.

In practice, you type your request into a chat interface. Lovable starts with a Plan mode that asks scoping questions before generating anything, then produces React code, connects a Lovable Cloud backend (authentication, data persistence), and publishes the app to a live public URL within minutes. You can then refine it through successive iterations, visually edit the interface without consuming credits, or sync the code with GitHub.

Lovable is aimed at founders who want to validate an idea quickly, product managers who prefer to bring a working prototype to meetings rather than a slide deck, and marketing teams who want to launch a site in an afternoon. The platform is designed from the ground up for people without a technical background.

On the other hand, Lovable is less suited to developers who need fine-grained architectural control, high-traffic applications subject to strict regulatory requirements, or business-critical projects that require a full independent security audit before going live.

What it offers

  • ·Full application generation (React frontend, backend, database, authentication) from a natural language prompt.
  • ·Plan mode: the AI asks scoping questions and presents a build plan before writing any code, to avoid unnecessary generations.
  • ·Visual Edits: modify text, colors, and styles directly on the interface without consuming credits.
  • ·Two-way GitHub sync to keep control of the code in any editor. (paid)
  • ·Custom domain with included SSL and hosting bundled into the subscription. (paid)
  • ·Native integrations with Stripe for payments, Supabase for the database, and over 20 connectors (Notion, Slack, Shopify, etc.).
  • ·Private projects and user role management within a shared workspace. (paid)
  • ·SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certification; SSO/SAML, role-based access control, and audit logs available on the Enterprise plan. (paid)

How to install Lovable

1. Go to lovable.dev and create an account (no credit card required for the free plan). 2. On the dashboard, describe your idea in the central text box in plain language. 3. Enable Plan mode so the AI asks scoping questions and presents a plan before generating code. 4. Approve the plan: Lovable generates the application and publishes a live public URL within minutes. 5. Connect GitHub via Settings > Connectors > GitHub to sync your code and keep a copy outside the platform (recommended precaution against vendor lock-in). 6. For a custom domain, go to project settings and enter your domain; SSL is included.
