What it does, concretely
Writing code takes time, especially when juggling understanding an existing repository, writing tests, and delivering complete features. Qoder aims to reduce that time by delegating part of the work to agents that operate directly within the development environment.
In practice, Qoder offers several working modes: an Agent mode where the user validates each important step through checkpoints, and a Quest mode that handles a task end to end, from drafting a technical design document to delivering tested code. A repository wiki is generated and kept up to date automatically to maintain an overview of the project architecture.
The tool is aimed at individual developers as well as teams who want to delegate repetitive or complex tasks to an agent while retaining control over critical decisions. It is available as a desktop application, a JetBrains plugin, a command-line interface, and a mobile app for monitoring agent progress remotely.
However, Qoder is not suitable for projects whose code is confidential and cannot leave internal infrastructure: there is no local mode, and the repository is sent to Alibaba servers to provide context for the agents.
